FALL CAR CARE TIPS
• Engine Performance — Get engine drivability problems (hard starts, rough idling, stalling, diminished power, etc.) corrected. Cold weather will make existing problems worse. Replace dirty filters—air, fuel, PCV, etc.
• Car Lock De-Icer — Whether in your home or car, whether in an ice storm or freezing cold, you can't afford to be locked out. Lock De-Icer and Lubricant automatically thaws frozen locks. Just insert the nozzle into the frozen keyhole and push to release de-icer.
• Windshield Wipers — Replace old blades. If your climate is harsh, purchase rubber-clad (winter) blades to fight ice build-up. Stock up on windshield washer solvent; you’ll be surprised how much you use. Also, carry an ice-scraper.

Mom's Chili

1¼ hours 15 min prep
1 lb ground beef,
1 medium onion, chopped,
2-3 cloves garlic (more depending on your taste),
1-2 can kidney beans, drained (I use 1 can light & 1 can dark),
1 (15 ounce) can tomato paste,
5 1/4 cups water,
1 (32 ounce) can tomatoes,
2 cans tomato sauce,
1 teaspoon cumin,
2 teaspoons chili powder,
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes.
Directions:
1. Brown ground beef with onion and garlic in soup pot.
2. Drain grease and rinse with water in colander.
3. Put back in pot.
4. Add all other ingredients.
5. Cook for at least one hour.
6. Will get hotter as it ages. |
