BOCH TOYOTA HOSTS ITS ANNUAL
TOYS-FOR-TOTS DRIVE
Boch Toyota is proud to be sponsoring its annual Toys-for-Tots Drive on Friday, December 12th. Ernie Boch Jr. will be hosting the event along with Greg Hill and the whole WAAF morning team, broadcasting live at Boch Toyota, On the Automile, Route 1, Norwood, MA from 6am to 10am. New unwrapped toys can be dropped off anytime during the day, from 6am until 9pm.

No one needs to be told that times are a little tougher this Holiday Season than in past years, which makes it even more important for all of us to do what we can to help. Through the gift of a shiny new toy, the Marine Toys-for-Tots Foundation provides happiness and hope to disadvantaged children, who might otherwise be overlooked this holiday season.

This year marks the 61st anniversary for the Toys-for-Tots tradition of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. This Holiday season, join the Marines along with all of us at Boch Toyota and donate to Toys-for-Tots. Our goal is to deliver a toy to every child in need. Here’s wishing you a Happy Holiday.

Winterizing Your Car Tips
Wintertime is very unfriendly to a vehicle. Cold temperatures make it harder for an engine to work properly. Snow and ice limit traction. Potholes damage wheels and tires. Salt causes rust and gravel pits the paint. But there are things you can do to help your vehicle in this time of duress. Following are some easy steps to "winterize" your car. In fact, they are so easy, a talking car could figure them out! Remember, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
  • Inspect the belts and hoses. - The belts and hoses in modern cars lead long lives. But that doesn't mean they don't die. Cold temperatures can accelerate the demise of a belt or hose. Before winter starts, have the belts and hoses inspected on your vehicle.

  • Check antifreeze mixture. - The ideal mixture of antifreeze (coolant) and water inside your vehicle's radiator is 50:50. If the mixture deviates from this norm, then hot- and cold-weather performance can be compromised.

  • Carry an emergency kit inside the car. - Wintertime requires you to load more junk into the back of your vehicle. But hey, better safe than sorry, right?

   Baked Peaches with Almond Paste
Stuff ripe, juicy peach halves with pureed almond paste and then bake them until tender and golden. Puree the almond mixture ahead of time if you like, but wait until the last minute to cut and stuff the peaches, or they'll turn brown.
Ingredients
  • 4 peaches, halved and pitted
  • 6 ounce(s) almond paste (about 1/2 cup)
  • 3 tablespoon(s) hot water
  • 1 teaspoon(s) lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) cold butter, cut into 8 pieces

  • Directions:
    1. Heat the oven to 400°F. Put a rack on a baking sheet and then put the peaches on the rack, skin-side down.

    2. In a food processor, puree the almond paste, water, and lemon juice. Spoon the almond mixture into the centers of the peaches. Top each mound of almond paste with a piece of the butter.

    3. Bake in the lower third of the oven until the peaches are tender and the almond paste is golden brown, about 25 minutes. Serve warm.
